Killer Heels (Seriously)

Even if somebody would Double Dog Dare me, I wouldn't wear a pair of heels like these. Known as "Scary Beautiful" , the heels look like there on backwards but its necessary for the wearer  to wear the "killer heels" as if in ballet shoes, with their shin leaning against the front "heel" end of the design to balance on them. Seeing someone walk in them is painful to watch especially when you wonder what it would be like when you walk these "Scary Heels".  If you want to watch video check it out at http://shine.yahoo.com/the-thread-how-to/scariest-shoes-time-173900092.html. These shoes are a collaboration between artist Leanie van der Vyver and Dutch shoe designer RenĂ© van den Berg. I don't know about you  but I've seen some crazy heels in the past, curtsy of Alexander McQueen but these heels are ridiculous! Comment if you think that these heels are styling, painful, deadly, etc.

Lack of Comments to Posts

Hello readers and radio listeners, this is your super styling DJ Symone bringing you the latest "what the heck" moment. Hangout Spot - The Depot

Whether it be eating lunch  after a long 3 hour class or just to hang out with friends while listening to music. The best place to do all those activities and more is at the well-known hang out of San Francisco State University, The Depot. The origin of the Depot is unknown but let me give the general rundown of this cool, laid-back atmosphere. The Depot is a student-run and student-funded venue of the Cesar Chavez Student Center, located on the San Francisco State Campus. All of the shows, unless stated otherwise, are all ages, free, and open to the public.

Now the Depot schedules different bands and artists to perform for the creative and happening student crowd of San Francisco State. But besides having a wicked line of performers coming out to perform, the Depot also hosts an Open Mic Night, where students have the chance to perform and entertain the crowd to the best of their abilities. Speak! another event hosted by the Depot is a perfect event for those who want to showcase their poetic skills to a crowd wants to hear a wide variety of poetry. So if you want to hear music while relaxing, hanging out with friends, or studying for the next class, check out the Depot. And if you want the chance to spout out your poetry, rhymes, or raps to a crowd who relishes to hear a wide variety of creativity from such poems, rhymes, and raps, then check out the Depot at San Francisco State. If you want to check out the different events going on at the Depot then click on the link below to see the events going on the month of October.

Fashion Nostalgia - Jem and the Holograms (Part 1)

This is a new addition to the blog called Fashion Nostalgia, where I recap different fashionable related subjects of the past, weather it be music videos, celebrities in their past apperances, tv shows, movies, etc. Now to start off with my new column, is by introducing one of my favorite fashionable animated tv shows from the 80s that is truly outrageous! Jem!!

Created by Christy Marx, Jem is an animated television series that ran in the mid-80s. The show is about music company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego Jem, her band the Holograms, and their fashionable and outrageous adventures. If you want the full details about the show check out its wikipedia page @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jem_%28TV_series%29#Production.

Jem wasn't only popular for its not so subtle soap opera plotline that blew by head when I was younger but for its wicked animation. While I was interested in the dramatic storyline, I was also very interested in the fashion that the characters of the show.

Jerrica Benton, the president of Starlight Music and Head Mother of Starlight House for Foster Girls, style showcases her mature and professional attitude. Even when your a young president of a music company, having a chic sense of style while being professional is normal for Jerrica.  Whenever she's not Jem, Jerrica trys her best to keep everything under control whether its Starlight House, Starlight Music, or her love life with Rio, her boyfriend/long-time friend since childhood/band manager for Jem and the Holograms.

Jem, alter-ego of Jerrica Benton, showcases a style that reflects the different kinds of adventure she and her band encounters. Even with outfits that match the episode's plot, Jem's outfits reflects her fun and musical personality. Jem can always brighten the room with bright colors, unparalleled outfits, and her outrageously big pink hair.

Just like Jem's song this is "only the beginning" of the a new section of the blog that will catch the attention of not only of you online shakers but also to you radio listeners. This is the end of part 1 of Fashion Nostalgia with Jem and Holograms, but I will be back with more and the showcasing the other characters from series and their own sense of style. Keep on Stylin!

New Store in DownTown San Francisco

Hello online shakers and radio listeners this is your resident fashion freak/DJ Symone coming at you with the latest news from the city by the Bay. Now last weekend there were a truckload of events going on in the city such as the Strictly Bluegrass Festival, going to see the Giants play, and the American Cup, but lets remember that to some people shopping at a new store is also consider an event. Especially when the store is offering wicked promo deals, amazing quality clothing, and grade A customer service that makes shopping at UNIQLO the best for those looking for casual and/or professional clothing.

If you guys are wondering what the heck is UNIQLO, let me explain. You see Uniqlo is a retail clothing store all the way from Japan and its already in the process of expanding in the US. With 4 stores already in New York City and another about to open up in New Jersey, the expansion is already coming along rapidly. But a huge honor has been placed for the UNIQLO in San Francisco because its not only one of the beginning stores in the US but its also the 1st one to open on the West coast. Big Deal? Your better believe it! Anyway the killer deals that were offered this weekend are something out of daily shopaholic dream such as 9.90 denim jeans in different colors, 49.90 Ultra Premium Down Light Jacket that can keep you warm while looking stylish, and my favorite is the 6 pair of color socks for 9.90. Why socks? Well this deal can turn on any shopping maniac especially when you can choose from a wall filled of different colored socks. From normal dark colors such as gray and black to bright and funky colors like orange, purple, yellow, and red. And don't think that all of the colors because there are more than that, in fact there are 44 different colors you can choose from! And you can also mix and match with any of the 44 colors on the sock wall,  which is pratically the deal breaker to this killer deal.

Its normal for the new kid on the block to be nervous about how the kids will think of them, well UNIQLO is not your normal everyday retail store. So if want to check the new killer deals at a new wicked cool retail store from the land of the rising sun, go on the M-line train of  San Francisco Muni, get off at Powell and go to the near the Cable cars until you see a huge white building with their well known insignia on display.

Contest Fluke

Hello listeners and online shakers! I need to address an issue about my recent music playlist contest. I'm sorry to say that I don't think my contest is going to have a winner. The reason why I say that the contest won't have a winner because I didn't play the full music playlist for the whole show so most of the words to guess the moods of the music playlist is left unfilled. So I don't know whether or not that you can match the moods to the songs played on the show. So instead I will not resume the contest but in stead will construct a page or a post on the site where you the readers and listeners will have the opportunity to submit their mood music playlist to me in order to decide when your music playlist will be played on the show! The playlist can have 1 to 3 moods to it but you have to describe them with each song on the playlist. There can only be 5 songs on the playlist because there are has to be time to present the news and what not on the show. Any way, I sorry to say that contest wasn't successful but I'm willing to compromise. So check out the show's Facebook page and the blog for details about the new page or post and have the chance to submit your own mood music playlist.

So if you want to showcase your rad music play listing skills then by all means listen in and guess the moods and match them up to the songs played on the MoodRose Radio show tomorrow at 9am on ksfs.sfsu.edu. So without further ado, the 5 words that will describe the moods of the music playlist of tomorrow's show:
1. Mature
2. Mollify
